March Comes In Like a Lion Review

March comes in like a Lion is undoubtedly a story that deserves more than a chance. Perhaps the drawing style seems familiar to you, since this story is authored by Chica Umino , the same mangaka of Honey & Clover . This manga has been actively serialized since 2007 and has a live action adaptation planned for its premiere during March of next year.

The animation is by Studio Shaft (Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Puella Magi Madona Magica, Nisekoi) and I must admit that the settings and character design will simply take your breath away.

The music is provided by Yukari Hashimoto (Toradora!, Tsukuyomi:Moon Phrase), the OP titled “Answer” and Ed “Fighter” are performed by the band Bump of Chicken (one of my favorites).

The story introduces us to Kiriyama Rei , a boy of just 17 years old who at his young age has become one of the most recognized professional Shougi (a type of Japanese chess) players. His personality, however, is totally mysterious; He is a boy who does not like to socialize if it is not necessary, his past is locked in the depths of his memories and sometimes he visits the Kawamoto family who will give him a little motivation to move forward.

Its anime adaptation premiered on October 8 and currently has 4 episodes that you can watch in simultaneous transmission through the Crunchyroll page.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I am doing!
